day 41: cute cumbers

Thanks for all the positive feedback about the Apple Pie Green Smoothie! I think I should just give all my smoothies dessert names and see what kind of reactions I get. ;)

… and speaking of smoothies I scoped out this stuff in the natural food section at Zehrs and thought I’d try it this week instead of almond milk for my morning smoothies:

Basmati rice milk. I’ve never had rice milk before. I didn’t like this stuff as much as almond milk, but it’s still pretty tasty. I’d buy it again but I don’t think I’d drink it ‘neat’- it’s best as a mixer.

My mind was all over the place during today’s workout. For some reason I had trouble focusing so I didn’t push myself much more than last Monday. I stayed pretty consistent. I did three sets of each of these exercises:

Bench Press:                               105lb x 6 reps
Bent-over Barbell Row:            85lb x 8 reps
Dumbbell Shoulder Press:       35lb x 8 reps, 6 reps, 4 reps
Skull Crushers:                             50lb x 8 reps
Curved Barbell Curl:                  50lb x 8 reps, 7 reps, 6 reps

Today I was feeling so snacky. I had some raisins, a plumcot, a peach, and a couple of prunes with almonds when I got home from the gym. My favourite snack today was cucumbers with hummus.

Because it’s Nutrition Month there were dietitians at the mall on the weekend giving away these little cucumbers or “Cute Cumbers” from some local hydroponic farmers.

It’s pickle-sized!! Awesome.

Perfect for dipping into this giant bowl of hummus Matt whipped up. It was slightly humourous (to me) watching him have a hell of a time making in the kitchen making this hummus. BOY was it worth it! Yum.

I’m off to make some dinner with the Matt. Have a nice night everyone :)

I can eat cucumbers but they’re not my favourite. I do like them pickled though :-)

Your bench press is better than mine! Last time I did it I think I was using 45lb dumbells so 15lbs shy. Nice!
