i’ve got power
It took me twice as long usual to get to the gym after work today. After a brief and somewhat frightening thunderstorm half of the traffic lights were blacked out and cars were bumper to bumper.
I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t function well in traffic congestion. Actually that’s an understatement. I find myself swearing uncontrollably at the top of my lungs like I have Tourette’s, telling every lousy driver (that’s every driver other than myself, of course) where to go and how to get there. I may insult their mothers too. Luckily, Windsor roads are usually free of traffic jams. I can’t imagine how people drive in places like Chicago or Los Angeles where traffic jams are standard; I’d turn into a monster.
In any case, I finally made it to the gym and the parking lot was emptier than it is late on Friday night (yes I go to the gym on Friday nights. I grant you permission to judge me). Perfect! I thought I love when the gym is quiet like this. …but it was too quiet. Eerily quiet.
I went inside and all the lights were out. Shit. Oh well, I can probably still weightlift right? I mean, it is bright enough in there with all the windows.
The girl at the front desk said to me Yeah, we’re closed. We don’t have any power.
I thought about saying to her: I have plenty of power right here while pointing at my flexed biceps. But I held back.
I left disappointed. I hate to miss a workout.
On the way home I hit 2 more blacked out traffic lights.
What a day.
At least the power came on in my house just in time for me to make dinner. Garden peppers stuffed with lemon rice.

I miss thunderstorms. We don’t get them often enough here, though the wind brings us plenty of power outages.
(And I hate to spoil your weekend, but I’m pretty sure it’s Thursday. Not completely sure, but pretty sure.)
uhg that sounds awful. If I have the motivation to work out… It better actually happen.
Whats up – I necessary claim, impressed with your site. I had no trouble navigating through all the tabs and additionally facts ended up being awfully relatively easy to access. I discovered what I hoped for almost instantly anymore. Much spectacular. What an unlucky day you had! luckily there was delicious food waiting for you at home
This gave me an amazing (and hilarious) visual of you in the middle of traffic. Love it.
Ugh drat. After that experience I would have probably lost my temper with the poor lady at the gym, haha. I have terrible road rage too. People really ought to be required to retake the tests periodically.
“Hello! It’s called a turn signal! That little stick that pokes out behind the wheel? Yeah, use it!” That’s my signature line.
I hate when the power goes out on the traffic lights. It always makes me so nervous to drive because everyone just goes whenever they please! Your dinner looks delicious though. I love stuffed peppers
Don’t feel bad it’s not like you tried to miss a workout.
Dinner looks so good and simple?
That pepper looks delicious!
That pepper is sooo beautiful!!
Oh boy, that sucks. What a day. At least your biceps are powerful, right? And you got to work out some aggression is the car … I guess. If you ever come to CT, I wouldn’t suggest you drive around Hartford. Unless you want to swear some more, of course.
Nice job with the stuffed peppers!
