Cool post, thanks for all of the facts. I bet these would be cool to try on a treadmill. I just can't picture running in them on pavement.

Thanks for the thorough info, Samantha! I've been very interested to see how people like the Vibrams, especially since my brother in law swears by them. I actually wrote a couple of posts about barefoot running back in Feb and didn't come to any conclusion about it because there just doesn't seem to be one conclusion! I'll be interested to hear how this goes for you.

Have a great weekend!

I have been wondering about those since I've been seeing them everywhere lately. I'm pretty happy with the running shoes I've got now but what I think is most important for everyone is to find whatever shoe prevents injuries for them. Guess it's different for everyone!

Hm $80? Not that bad. I expected that they would be a lot more actually. I think those would weird me out though. I hated the toe sock craze when I was in middle school haha.

I got a pair of Sprints in June. I had been wanting to try BF running because I read that people who have running injuries don't experience them (or they just aren't as bad) when they run barefoot. Well, my knee hasnt hurt yet! However, be careful building up your mileage. In the first few months of running BF, 1 BF mile = 2 miles with shoes. I built myself up to 4 miles in only a month or so and I got this TERRIBLE heel pain which didnt go away for 2 weeks. It even hurt to walk. So I learned my lesson and basically had to start all over with building up my mileage and have to push my 1/2 marathon to the spring.
Just wanted to give you a heads up!
I really like your blog

Originally I was dead set against these things. However I've been listening to some nationally recognized coaches and they recommend them for short distances to learn to hit the ground better..not on the heel! So I've been getting closer to trying them just to see if it will help my heel out.

As you could probably tell you may have went too far on the first run in these. You should work up the distances as these will work muscles in ways you're not use to.

They look awesome! I've seen them but figured the support wasn't there?? My feet HURT after standing in heels/flats all day...thumping the ground without support makes me cringe. Think I'd be okay with them though?

Hi Samantha!

I just came across your blog and I'm soo happy to have found another Ontario blogger! I'm in Waterloo but my family (well, part of it) is in Windsor so I'm pretty familiar with the area! There's a lady at my gym with the Vibram shoes and I still can't see them as aesthetically attractive, but I've read about the benefits of barefoot training and I think they'd be really cool to try. Thanks for the review! :)
